The Ozark Trail Instant Dome Tent’s strenght – like the name suggests – is the speedy set up. According to Ozark, this instant dome tent sets up in a mere 30 seconds. Even if it takes slightly longer, this 6-person tent requires no assembly because the poles are pre-attached to the tent, just unfold and extend.
(Just as a footnote: if there are any issues with instant tent, it’s not pitching, but rather putting it back to the bag AND keep the last crumbles of self-respect and sanity.)
But the Ozark Trail is really user friendly, even when packed up: it weighs only 13.35 lbs which is very good considering the size of the tent.

The tub floor, which is waterproof and equipped with window shades and its own rainfly, also acts as a barrier against moisture, which may sometimes seep into tents during wet weather.
The huge front door allows for easy entry and exit, and the mesh windows, along with the mesh roof, constantly flow air through the tent. This 4-season cotton canvas tent – the 5M model in this example with a 16.4 ft diameter – really is an exceptionally big tent. If you have a party planning, or outdoor classes for kids, or camping in a big group of friends, or even a space to perform your massages at festivals, this large tent has the space to handle it. It can accommodate 6-8 people sleeping comfortably on inflatable mattresses (3 queen size mattress fits inside easily). Or, more than 25 seated adults can squeeze in there, depending on what you use this bell tent for.
The entrance is 5.58 ft /1.7 metres high, but once you are inside you’ll be stunned by the 9.8 ft / 3 metres internal height. There are vents at ground level and on the ceiling to make a steady breeze across the tent. You also have a pipe hole for a chimney, should you want to have a stove inside to keep the tent warm even in winter.
The Unistrengh 5M Bell Tent comes in a handy carry bag but you need a strong grip (or rather, another person) to carry the tent. Canvas is quite heavy, this is a large tent, so the bag weighs 77.2 lbs (35 kgs), which is well above what you can easily chuck into the boot or onto the roof rack.
Pitching is easy (bar dragging the heavy canvas), there is literally one center pole, a few guylines that need staking out, and one pole for the door.
This cotton canvas tent – like all canvas tents – is extremely water proof after it’s been through one rain. Cotton fibres grow their size when they become wet, thus creating a waterproof fabric as they squeeze into each other. Canvas tents don’t need extra waterproofing layers, but this bell tent has received a layer that protects you and the fabric from harmful UV rays.
The ground sheet is made of 540gsm ripstop PVC, waterproof and is detachable from the tent.
As for packing away, you really should not pack it away unless the canvas is dry, or be sure to thoroughly dry within one day or two if you are forced to pack up while wet.

It is a bit of a stretch for 6 people, but if you happen to have 4 kids, than by all means, you will not be short of space on the 10′ x 9′ x 72″ footprint.
The walls are near vertical to maximize the space inside, while the 72″ high ceiling means that you can virtually stand up everywhere in the tent without bending.
The pullout windows are just fantastically inventive: they provide great ventilation / views while they are also protected from rain falling in. There are also further adjustable air vents nearer to ground level to ensure there’s a steady airflow across the tent. The doors is wide and has no-see-um mesh.
The tub-like floor and the 75D ‘Omni-coated’ tent fabric with taped seams ensure that you are protected from the elements.
The Columbia Mammoth Creek comes in a rectangular shaped carrybag that of course includes the tent fabric and the fibreglass poles too, yet, it’s only 8.27″ x 8.27″ x 27.95″, and weighs 22 lbs.
There are some storage pockets but sadly there’s no ceiling mesh.

This tent’s fly, canopy and floor are made from durable polyester with a PU-coated, water-resistant finish. Large top vents help prevent condensation, and there are two large windows that provide great visibility and breathability on warm days.
Pitching is easy, there are only 3 fibreglass poles (2 for the tent, 1 for the vestibule), 14mm thick each to increase stability. Wet weather will no longer be an issue with their famous Weathertec system, as the tent is outfitted with an array of waterproofing features such as a rain resistant fly and tent fabric, inverted seam stitching, zipper cuffs, a completely sealed up floor, and a sturdy frame built to withstand 35 mph+ winds.
The rainfly also acts as a little canopy over windows, allowing for ventilation while keeping you dry. This tent is divided into two sections: the main tent (90 square feet) and a secondary screened area (50 square feet).
With a height of 68 inches, you have plenty space to move around and change, though anyone taller than 5’8″ will have to lean down slightly. The screened room allows you to appreciate nature while remaining bug-free, and it also serves as additional sleeping space.

QOMOTOP’s 6-person tent has 90 square feet of habitable interior space and a central height of 66 inches, allowing you to fit people, air mattresses, backpacks, and all your belongings when camping in the wilderness. It has not got the biggest footprint, and it is not the one with the highest ceiling either, but with its instant setup and reasonable price the QOMOTOP 6-person tent is something to consider for everyone who is looking for a budget tent.
The footprint is 10′ by 9′, so it is a bit tight for 6 adults, but it’s more than ideal for 2 adults and the kids. QOMOTOP officially recommends it for 3 adults and 3 children.
The materials used are also very reasonable considering the price of this 6-man tent, the 68D 190T polyester is quite commonplace even on more expensive tents. The bathtub floor and the 600mm .H coating on the rainfly and tent wall will keep you dry in light rain, but I recommend avoiding heavy rainfalls. You also need to be careful not to lean anything against the walls when it rains, otherwise water will seep through. Removing the rainfly will reveal the large mesh skywindows.
Because the rainfly only covers the roof with a modest awning over the windows, each window and door has movable zip-up coverings for privacy and keeping inclement weather out.
One person can set it up in less than a minute by extending the telescopic legs and propping them upright before pinning down the shelter.
As a result, it is an excellent choice for folks who go for vacation after work and arrive at their campsites after dark. A ground ventilation system draws in air, while the mesh windows, ceiling, and door expel it, resulting in optimal internal airflow.
An electrical cord access point is included as a bonus feature, and inner pockets on the top and sides enable for phone and tablet storage that may be hung up to watch movies while laying down.

You might be interested in reading my full review on the KAZOO Saturn Instant Cabin tents, because I was quite impressed with what they have on offer. This 6-person instant tent has a cabin-shaped design to provide great space inside; it can comfortably accommodate six individuals. It’s one of the largest rapid cabin tents on the market. The automatic mechanism makes it a very convenient 6 person tent. It is a simple and quick process to get everything up and running, it can be opened and closed in 30 seconds by one person according to KAZOO, but even if it is a slight overstatement of the ease of pitching, it certainly does not take longer than a few minutes…
The Kazoo Large cabin tent has two layers: B3 mesh no-see-um netting and 190T breathable polyester make up the liner. The rainfly is made of 210T Ripstop Polyester. With a waterproof rating of 3000mm, this four-person tent has passed the test. It has a robust but light structure with ultra-lightweight premium 19mm aluminium poles.
Easy entry and smooth closure are made possible by two huge dual-zipper doors with taped seams. The zipped door may be raised to create a parasol; children can nap inside the tent while adults relax outside. It works nicely on most occasions as a very convenient 6 person quick tent.
Two small double mattresses fit inside, and there’s enough headroom to sit up comfortably plus there’s plenty of space left inside for your gear and equipment. If you go camping with sleeping bags, 8 people might fit in, depending on the number of children in the group.
The carrybag weighs 17.6 lbs (8 kgs), so it is not going to be your backpacker tent, but can be carried reasonably easily.

With so many of us reliant on our smartphones these days, an increasing number of tents include an electrical port slot that can be used to run power into the tent for charging. It’s also a handy feature if you wish to utilise an electric heater when camping.
